This is what Vastu Shastra is all about! It is no magic, it just means, “the right things at right place”. There are five elements of Vastu shastra and they are- earth, air, water, fire and space. Kitchen:

South- East is the direction for your kitchen. This will help you to bring positivity and productivity in your house.

Bedroom:

Your bedroom is the place where you spend your time after having a stressful day. Therefore, South- West is the direction where your bedroom should be placed. This will help you to get a positive and peaceful mind.

North- West is the direction for toilet/bathroom in your house. This directions supports the removal of negativity and wastage from one’s body.

Many of us find it difficult to follow Vastu shastra in modern homes as the architecture is totally based on legal permissions and restrictions, technology, new trends, your own comfort and maintenance, etc.

• Use wooden furniture over any other modern materials as wood indicates warmth and harmony in the family despite of the shape and size.

• Rectangular desks or tables are the most suitable for working. As per vastu shastra it gives a lot if success in your working life. One should never have lunch or dinner on the working table.

• Have flowers in your house especially, lilies. They spread tranquility in the ambience and bring happiness to the family.

• Proper ventilation is a very important aspect in a house. Open and airy environment helps in having a peaceful mind.

• Having bamboo tree indicates growth and prosperity and helps in attracting good luck whereas, planting white magnolia promotes love and purity amongst the owners.

• Painting or photos which show violence should not be kept in the house as it gives a bad impact on the members of the family, they become cantankerous in nature. So instead of those you can use pictures of flowers, butterflies, horses, etc.

• Mirrors should be placed in North or North east direction in your house. Make sure your jewellery or money is reflected in the mirror as the indicate multiplicity and expansion of what you have.
